Daniel Carter (Jr.) Portee

Daniel "Dan" Carter Portee, Jr. departed from this earth on Monday, October 23, 2023 in Fort Wayne, Indiana due to complications associated with heart failure. He was born June 30, 1961 in Crumrod, Arkansas to Mannie Lee Douglas and Daniel Carter Portee, Sr. His mother, father, and sister Janice Miller preceded him in death. His legacy goes forward via his children Daniel Carter Portee, III, Nina Portee-King, Chanel Portee, and Briana Clark, whom he created with Kimberly Gilion; in addition to his 13 grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, sisters, extended family, and friends.

Daniel  had a love for education and knowledge. He also loved making others laugh. Through his journey he desired to be better than his circumstances.
