Crystal Lynette Smith was born October 28, 1970, to her parents, Eunice and Charles Randle. She was the oldest of three children. She attended St. Louis Public Schools and was baptized at a young age.
Due to the transition of her mother’s job with General Motors, Crystal moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1986. She continued her education at Elmhurst High School where she graduated in 1988. After high school, for a short time, she worked at the Allen County Court House and Lincoln National Bank.
In 1991 she welcomed her first child, Steffen Jackson. Later, in 1995, she was hired at General Motors, and in 2000, Shamari Jackson was born.
Like her smile, Crystal was a bright light for everyone who knew her. She never met a stranger! She loved life and was always on the go to see and help those who needed her. She had a wonderful circle of friends and was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Roger Lee Smith in 2011.
When diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, she remained upbeat and supportive of everyone else. She never complained and did what she had to! Life took her on many trials and tribulations, but her faith never wavered! She always fought for her family and friends.
Crystal was the prime example of a true daughter and mother! A support system for every one of us! She loved spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling, and although she was “particular”, she loved going out to eat! She enjoyed reading and being a member of Turning Pages Book Club and was also a broker associate with Liberty Group Reality.
Crystal leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 13 years, Roger, her children, Steffen and Shamari Jackson, Jordan (Jennifer) Smith, Roderick Smith, Jaylon Smith, and Rondale Smith. Three grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Jaylyn Smith, and Shamar Jackson, her mother, Eunice (Larry) Marshall, brother, Charles Randle, Jr., sisters, Danielle (Randall) Tubbs, and Chloe Randle. Godchildren, Brittany and Brandon Warren, her mother-in-law, Gloria Smith, brothers-in-law, Julius Smith, Ryan Smith, and Demetrius Walker of Mobile, Alabama. Sisters-in-law, Kesha Smith, and Jaqueline Walker of Uniontown, Alabama, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Crystal was preceded in death by her father, Charles Randle, Sr., Ben Garry, and George Randle.
