Constance Monique McKinney

Constance "Connie" Monique McKinney was born on May 4, 1982 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Darlene McKinney. Connie as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, departed this life on October 8, 2020.Connie was a graduate of North Side High School, Class of 2001 and was a member of Heaven 2 Earth Baptist Church. Connie was known for her kind heart and beautiful smile, she loved music, dancing, singing in the choir, worshipping the Lord and attending the Women's Group that she was a part of, as well as helping to serve in any way she could. Connie adored her family especially her Mother, Brother, and the rest of her family. Connie fought a long hard battle with heart disease starting at the age of twelve and was blessed to receive a second chance at life on June 22, 2013 by being a heart transplant recipient. Connie was a FIGHTER no matter the situation even after enduring several surgeries and procedures she never gave up. Connie's personal quote to keep her going was "it's about never giving up, ever!" She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ester Lee McKinney and Anna Katherine McKinney. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved mother; Darlene McKinney, brother; Brandon Contreras, two nieces; Leilani Contreras and Eliana Payton, two special aunts; Tammie McKinney and Lanita McCovery, two special uncles; Terry McKinney and Jerome McKinney, loving cousins; LaTasha, Terry Jr., Terrance, Terrell, Darryl, Tyrone, Tifynnie Tyson, Kiean, Caleb, KaMya, Devin Jr., Keldric, and Niiami a special sister and long time friend; Corita Fluker, special brother; Alex Quinonoes, godfather; Terry Lymon, and a host of other relatives and friends.
