Charley Mae Hardy was born March 28, 1937, in Tutwiler, Mississippi to the late Beatrice and Peter Bullock, Sr.
She joined the congregation at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. James W. Bledsoe. She graduated from Tutwiler High School in Tutwiler, Mississippi.
Charley Mae continued her education at Coahoma Junior College and Alcorn State and earned her master’s degree at St. Francis College. She worked 45 years with Fort Wayne Community Schools. Charley Mae loved bowling, watching sports, singing in the choir, and traveling.
Charley Mae is survived by her sons, Gary Bullock and Larry Norwood, sisters; Evelyn Jackson, Cleo (John) Chapman, Connie (Willie) Gray, and Joe Ann Greene, brothers; Richard Bullock, Fred Bullock, and Clarence Bullock.
Charley Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Hardy, her parents, Beatrice and Peter Bullock, Sr., brothers, Tommy Bullock, and Peter Bullock, Jr., sisters, Samella (Jimmy) Young and Dian Bullock.
