Charles Edward Patterson was born on January 8, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Samuel and Pearl “Mimi” Patterson.
Charles came into the name “Beau” by his cousin Jewel “Sis” Walker because he was considered a fashionable man.
Charles graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served in the United States Army as a serviceman during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Beau was hired by Dana Corporation and retired after 30 years of service.
He loved to travel and indulge in other cultures with his family. He was the family entertainer; he loved to joke and keep everyone laughing with his sense of humor.
Charles and Karen were united in holy matrimony August 29, 1987. They shared 33 years of marriage until he finished his journey here on earth Monday, August 2, 2021.
Beau’s absence will be felt most strongly by his wife, Karen, children, Angie Patterson, Tara Patterson, Keisha Hairston, Dorcas (Andre) Harvey, Marcus Calhoun, and Kharli Patterson; siblings, James Patterson, Larry Patterson, and Barbara Hudson; 13 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grand Children; God-son James Breedlove, God-Daughter Mia Brewer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Pearl Patterson, son Jason Breedlove, brothers Lloyd “Mickey” Moore and Beverly “Jingles” Patterson.
