Chance K. Young Obituary
Chance Keyon Young, age 28, was born February 20, 1996, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was the son of Pamla Young and Argentry Montgomery Sr., and the youngest of all his siblings. He departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Chance accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Oakridge Temple Church of God & Christ. He continued his commitment to Christ throughout his life.
Chance was diligent in his studies, excelling academically. He was a well-rounded student, participating in multiple sports, including basketball and track. He was also a 3-time state champion with the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Football Team.
Chance was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Selena Mahon, and a dedicated father to Harmony Grace. He treasured his family and embraced every moment with them. He had an infectious personality and always made people around him laugh. He made friends everywhere he went and was the life of the party.
Chance was employed at P.A.M. Transport, Inc. During his employment, he inspired many others to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). He was the owner of Taking Chances, L.L.C.
As a lover of many things, Chance was a sports fanatic, movie enthusiast, amazing card player, and a host for family and friend's events. In his spare time, Chance enjoyed bowling as well. Chance loved his hat collection and had a contagious smile while wearing them.
Chance leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Selena Young; precious daughter, Harmony Grace Young; faithful canine companion, Harley Quinn; mother, Pamla Young of Fort Wayne, IN; father, Argentry (Cathy) Montgomery Sr. of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Cierra Young of Indianapolis, IN, Brierra Young of Fort Wayne, IN, Daisha Key of Indianapolis, IN, Ariel Montgomery of Murfreesboro, TN and Keiara (Davarious) Stephans of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Darius Douglas of Dallas TX; special sisters, Isha (Dannelle) Shears of Fort Wayne, IN, Liza (DaJuan) Cooper of Fort Wayne, IN and Maria Moore of Tampa, FL; special brother, Jerrell Key of Fort Wayne, IN; grandparents, Maggielean Young and John Stallings, mother in law, Teresa Mahon and sister in laws; Brittany Mahon and Jayda Mahon all of Fort Wayne, IN. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Chance was preceded in death by his grandfather, Eddie Lee Young; grandmother, Cassandra Montgomery Hayes; uncle, Aaron Montgomery Sr.; and brother, Argentry Montgomery Jr.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 10 at New Covenant Worship Center at 3420 East Paulding Road in Fort Wayne, IN 46816, with visitation at 12:00 pm.
