Carolyn June Moore

Carolyn June Moore, 57, of Fort Wayne, gained her wings and went on to be with the Lord on April 25, 2024 after a tenacious battle with cancer.

Carolyn was born on June 2, 1966 to Barbara Jean Hale and Arlie Hatch in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After graduating from North Side High School in 1984, she entered the United States Army where she served fearlessly for over 39 years. Through her dedication and service in the Army, Carolyn earned the rank of First Sergeant. In addition to Indiana, Carolyn served in Germany, Georgia, Illinois and Hawaii.

In 2017, Carolyn’s passion for learning and education prompted her to pursue a degree in Business Administration. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in 2021. Soon after graduating, she started a career with the United States Department of Defense as an Equal Opportunity Specialist.

Carolyn was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her two children, Jarrell and Jamara. She also was an avid traveler who loved creating and sharing memories.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne. In addition, Carolyn devoted her free time to volunteering for a number of organizations including the MLK Club of Fort Wayne and Junior Achievement.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her father; Arlie Hatch, her children; Jarrell Harris and Jamara Moore-Chambers; her siblings; April Moore, Socrates Bragg, Joel (Asia) Dawson, Matthew Detwiler and Darin (Annette) Elkins, Tonya (Donnie) Brooks, Katina Hale and a host of other friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her son; Jamaal Baldon, mother; Barbara Jean Hale and step father; Drothy Hale.
