Carol Renee Henderson

Carol Renee Henderson, 59, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully at Stillwater Hospice surrounded by family and friends at 3:15 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2025. 

Carol was born on August 18, 1965 in Columbia City, Indiana.  She was the daughter of the late Bob & Shirley Henderson.  She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the class of 1983. 

Carol was most recently employed at Women’s Health Advantage in Fort Wayne.  Prior to that she worked at Omni Source and Steel Dynamics, Inc.  She was also the best dog-sitter to many in the area and they would trumpet the love she showed our four-legged friends!

Carol loved her family and friends without limits.  So many people were blessed to spend an evening around a card table or campfire with her.  Whether she was taking your money, zipping out witty one-liners, or giving those loving hugs and words of encouragement, her mind and heart were a never-ending source of love and knowledge.  Those of us lucky to know her are truly better for it.     

Surviving are her fiancé Vonnie Berry along with the Berry family of Fort Wayne; sister Angela (Peter) Yorg of Columbia City, brother Doug (Karen) Henderson of Lincolnville, sister-in-law K.C. Henderson of Fort Wayne; Nieces Jenny (Chip) Stephenson and Kate (Tyler Page) Henderson; Nephews Jon (Talya) Moore, Joe (Jeri Slacian) Henderson and Todd (Betty McClain) Henderson; Nine great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her big brother, Mike Henderson of Columbia City.

A memorial celebration will be held at a later date with family and friends.  As Carol was an avid animal lover, memorials may be made in her memory to the Humane Shelter of your choice.
