Booker T. Fowlkes

Booker T. Fowlkes was born in Marion, Alabama on May 30, 1937, to Dennis and Nannie L. (Hicks) Fowlkes. 

Booker T. attended grade school and Lincoln High in Marion, Alabama until he joined his parents in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Central High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Greenleaf Church in Alabama. He joined Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana under the pastoral leadership of Pastor John Dixon, Jr.

Booker T. worked at General Motors in Defiance, Ohio. He also worked for Midwest Trucking Company. Booker T. was most proud of Fowlkes Trucking Incorporated; his very own hauling company.

Booker T. enjoyed playing tennis, having coffee with his friends at McDonalds, and spending time with his family. He loved good Southern cooking; most enjoying Sunday dinners at his parent's home surrounded by family. 

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Booker T. transitioned from his earthly home to eternity. Booker T's life will forever be cherished in the memories of his children, Billy Odell Booker, Patricia Voncile Booker of San Francisco, California, Monique T. Fowlkes of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and DeWayne Townsend of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sisters; Nancy B. (Ebbie) Clark and Hattie Trigg of Fort Wayne, Indiana and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and life-long friends.

Booker T. was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Nannie L. (Hicks) Fowlkes, wife; Mary Alice Fowlkes, brothers; Walter Fowlkes and Dennis Fowlkes, Jr., son; Michael Bowens, and grandson; Billy Odell Booker, Jr.
