Mrs. Betty Lou Fincher, daughter of the late Samuel Alexander Wright and Leanna Wright was born July 2, 1945, in St. Charles, Arkansas. She attended Hopewell Elementary School in St. Charles and attended Emmanuel High School in Elmyra, Arkansas where she was a proud member of the Class of 1964. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and as an adult attended Dupree Memorial Church of God In Christ in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she was a dedicated member. Sister Fincher was united in holy matrimony to William Lee Fincher in November of 1980. Brother Fincher preceded her in death on November 23, 2022.
Mother Fincher possessed a very generous spirit and pleasant personality and as a result she was truly loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her motherly influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was preceded in death by her beloved sons William Eric Thomas and Diron Fincher. Adored brothers, Cleveland “Tank”Wright, Samuel “June Bug” Wright, and Emmanuel “Jimmy” Wright. Precious sisters, Annie “Sis” Stewart and Yvonne Geans.
Her beautiful life and joyful smile will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Reverend James Thomas, Mervin Thomas, Tracy Thomas, and Christian Thomas all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dearest daughter Carla Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her baby brother, Roy Gene Wright of Fort Wayne, Indiana and a host of devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins along with many other relatives and friends.
