Anthony “Tony” Alvis Outlaw
Anthony “Tony” Outlaw was born to William Henry Outlaw and Rosa Jean Poindexter. Tony was blessed to be raised by his mother and stepfather, Rosa Jean and Dorie Gillespie. Tony graduated from Elmhurst High School.
Tony enjoyed music, cooking and all things sports. If you knew Tony, his television was either on the news or ESPN. On Christmas, you could hear “Silent Night” by the Temptations blaring through the speakers. He couldn’t dance but that didn’t stop him from trying to cut a rug as he’d say.
Tony’s favorite saying was, “Linger along, die you must, take the bitter with the sweet”.
Tony leaves to cherish in his memory, his only child, daughter, his “baby girl-Poo”, Ebony (Tim) Grant. Stepfather, Dorie Gillespie. His Brothers, J. Lu Marc Outlaw, Ricky Outlaw, and Dedrick Gillespie. Sister, Kathy (Eddie) Young. Grandchildren, Michael (Brionna) Butler III, Jaya Swopshire, Chandlar Swopshire, Jason Swopshire, and Alonna Bischoff, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Outlaw, and Rosa Jean Gillespie. Brothers, Charles Jerome Outlaw, Jerry L. Outlaw and Dorie D. Gillespie. Grandfather Hugh Poindexter. Grandmother, Rosie. B. Batson.
