Anthony “Tony” Wayne McGee was born on January 16, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late John and Arlene (Irvin) McGee. From the very beginning, Tony brought joy, laughter, and style everywhere he went.
He attended Christ Temple Apostolic Church under the leadership of Elder Henry W. Jones and Bishop E.G. Haywood.
He was a proud graduate of Elmhurst High School and worked various service jobs throughout his life, always showing up with consistency, pride, and a strong work ethic. Tony was known for treating people with respect and kindness.
Many knew him as “Cool Tone” or “Pretty Tony” — not just for his sharp clothes, but for the way he carried himself. Smooth, steady, and full of quiet charm. He loved watching crime shows, keeping things simple, and enjoying life’s little pleasures.
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 59, Tony took his final rest and was called home to be with the Lord.
Tony leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Tinita McGee; and his children Alyssa Leeper, Erica Leeper,, Anthony “Denzel” McGee, Brice Burton all of Fort Wayne and Tinisha Green of Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tinirah Parker, Amerius Green, Catalaya Burton, and Joy Burton.
He is remembered with love by his brothers: Phillip McGee of Richmond, IN, Dwayne (Anita) Irvin of Alpharetta, GA, Paul (Cynthia) McGee and John (Pamela) McGee of Fort Wayne. His sisters: Margaret Ann McCallum of Muncie, IN and Belinda McGee of Fort Wayne, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Arlene (Irvin) McGee, his daughter Tiniqua McGee and his granddaughter Tinia Parker.
Tony was loved deeply, and he loved deeply in return. His jokes, his style, and his presence will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are heavy, we know he is resting in peace — reunited with those he missed, and watching over those he loved.
Sleep well, Pretty Tony. We’ll see you again.
