Annie Marie Stewart was born on October 31, 1943 to the late Samuel and LeAnna Wright in St. Charles, Arkansas. She attended Immanuel High School, Class of 1962, in Almyra, Arkansas. Annie, affectionately known as “Sis,” had a passion for caring for her grandchildren and picking and cleaning greens to put in her freezer.
Annie confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Dewitt, Arkansas under the leadership of Elder Lewis. In 1963, Annie married Emmitt Stewart and later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was employed by Wayne Candies Company for many years and later retired from Crossroads Child and Family Services. She was a faithful member of The Potter’s House Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana under the leadership of Pastor James K. Thomas.
Annie leaves to celebrate her memory, two sons, Tyrell Stewart and Michael Foster (Teniea), three special sons, Lincoln Shepherd, Tim Brown, and Ronnie Ashford, four daughters, Della Jamison (Dale), Linda Lowe (Tony), Tina Rutledge (Tim), and Stacey Shepherd, two brothers, Samuel Jr(Queen) and Roy G (Shirley), one sister, Betty L (William), fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and LeAnna Wright, her husband, Emmitt Stewart, two daughters, Kathy and Beverley, two brothers, Emanuel (Jimmy) Wright and Cleveland Wright, one sister, Yvonne Geans and one grandson, Brian Lowe, Jr.
