Robert Lee Goodson

Mr. Robert Lee “Bob” Goodson departed this life on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor at the age of ninety years old. He was born in Newbern, Alabama to George W. Goodson and Inez Everson.

Robert Accepted Christ at an early age. He was a person who loved the Lord. He worked for Krogers Distribution in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was full of life. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking long walks. He also loved making people laugh, and giving his grandchildren and great grandchildren special “nicknames.”

He met Minnie Wimes, whom he married and to this union four children were born. Inez (Lorenzo) Alexander, Bobby Goodson, Carrie Goodson, and Jacqueline Goodson, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, step-Children, Rebekah Smith and Harold Wimes of Fort Wayne, Indiana, two brothers, Olivent (Vy) Lewis, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Willie James Lewis of Miami, Florida, a sister, Elsie Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio, one brother-in-law, Leroy Tolbert of Fort Wayne, Indiana, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, along with a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, George and Inez Goodson, five sisters, Carrie Brown, Amanda Tate, Bertha Lewis, Annie Smith, and Emma Goodson, three brothers, George Goodson, Pat Lewis, and Ned Lewis, two grandchildren, Alana Goodson, and Arbrie Smith, one great grandchild Jemmah Davis.
