Edward Parnell Johnson was born on Saturday, January 24, 1953 in fort Wayne, Indiana to Parnell and Bernice Johnson who preceded him in death. Edward passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 surrounded by his family, friends, and loved ones. Edward was self-employed and he performed many manual labor jobs within the lawn care service he provided for his customers. Edward took great pride in being able to travel to New Orleans, Louisiana to assist in the clean-up effort when Hurricane Katrina devastated the area. Edward was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church and accepted Christ as his personal savior. He enjoyed spending time BBQing at his home for his family and friends. One of the places Edward, or "Eddie," as he was known to some, loved going on vacations with the family to was the Chain-O-Lakes State Park. Mourning Edward's passing, yet cherishing many happy memories of him is his children; Michael Johnson and Jewels Johnson, and Tiffany and Diamond, a loving companion, Christine Slaught and her children; Michael Slaught, Felicia Southard, Nicole Slaught, and Jacqueline Mays, his granddaughters; Aliegha Johnson and Niya Gardon; sisters; Cherry Tinnin, Marsha (William) Booker, Sybil (Walter) Brunson, Nancy Johnson-Gray, and his brother; Glenn L. Johnson along with numerous nephews, nieces, and loved ones.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Parnell and Bernice Johnson, sisters; Anita, Carroll, and Bettye, a brother; Frank, and his wife Virginia Johnson. Care entrusted to Nelson Memorial Gardens, Inc. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery.
