Beatrice (Doll) Barnfield was born February 18, 1932in
Uniontown, Alabama to the late James and Susie Anna
Barnfield. She entered Heaven’s gates on November 16, 2019
@ Aperion Rehabilitation Center surrounded by loved ones.
Beatrice was baptized at an early age and joined Oak Grove
Baptist Church. In 1976 Beatrice moved to Fort Wayne, IN and
was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church under the
leadership of Pastor Otha Aden. She later relocated to
Alabama and because of Health reasons she came back to
Fort Wayne, IN
A lovingmother and homemaker, Beatrice was
aremarkablecook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family
and friends, most especially over the holidays. She loved to
cook, quilt, crochet and knit. She was a loving mother and the
highlight of her life was taking care of children. Beatrice spent
the latter parts of her years taking care of her disable son
Lorenzo. He was the apple of her eye.
In 1991 Beatrice was nominated for the “Hoosier Hero “
award.
Beatrice was predeceased by her parents James and Susie
Anna Barnfield, sisters Louise Davis, Margaret Smith, Mary
Emma Nord and Susie Mae Nord, brothers Willie James and
Grady James Barnfield, children Willie Lee and Carrie
Barnfield, and one grand-daughter
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Lula B. Sullivan,
Fort Wayne, IN, five daughters Bettye Barnfield, Katherine
(Clarence) Paige Fort Wayne, IN, Shirley (William H.) Wilson
Harvey, LA, Monique and Julie Barnfield Selma, Al. four sons
James H. Barnfield and Lorenzo Barnfield, Fort Wayne, IN,
Johnny (Mary) Barnfield, ST. Cloud, MN, Samuel (Janet)
Barnfield, Milwaukee, WI. 24 grandchildren, 22 great-
grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren,1 sister –in-law
Louvenia Williams and a very special cousin Lewis (Eria)
Warren, Ypsilanti, MI
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews relatives
and friends.
